​We recently agreed a Party Wall Award for a development which included the change of a use of a retail unit into a car showroom and garage. This was adjoining a historical ecclesiastical building that had been converted into a climbing centre.
It required notice to be served under Section 2 (Party Structure Notice) of the Party Wall Act (1996). We carried out surveys and prepared and issued the relevant notices under the Act. We agreed on the appointment of a surveyor on behalf of the adjoining owner due to a lack of response. We then negotiated and agreed with the surveyor a Party Wall Award and Schedule of Condition Report.
